Event location: map and entrance

All activities will take place in Van Allen Hall, marked in red on the map below. VAN is bordered by Dubuque St, Jefferson St, and Iowa Ave. Please enter the building from the Iowa Ave entrance, marked with a blue arrow. There is a sign indicating the name of the building and a low, glass-walled atrium (second picture below). Breakfast and registration will be in the atrium.

Parking is available across Iowa Ave from the building in the paid parking ramp. Short-term, paid street parking is also available on the surrounding roads. 

Some activities will take place in LR2 just inside the atrium. Other activities throughout the day will take place on the roof and other rooms in Van Allen (see agenda). 

 

Keynote Speaker: Edward Gonzales, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center

Labs

Labs at SPARK will include many different opportunities to get hands-on with various scientific tools to complete different objectives for each lab. Lab time will include solar observing, astronomical imaging, a group demo show, and more.  

Panels
Panel topics will be space physics and astronomy research as well as Learning about Majority Dominating Spaces. Speakers at these panels will include University of Iowa staff and students.

Meals
